In the Bhagavad-gītā, Sri Krishna reveals Himself as the source from which everything emanates — the origin of all that is. Hearing this, Arjuna addresses Him as the Supreme Brahman, the unborn and eternal Person.
And yet that same unborn Lord agrees to appear as a child in Nanda Mahārāja’s courtyard. He does not need to. He does it so that we may come to know Him, be drawn to Him, and receive the message that changes everything.
जन्म कर्म च मे दिव्यमेवं यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतः।“One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, on leaving this body, take birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.” Bhagavad-gītā 4.9
त्यक्त्वा देहं पुनर्जन्म नैति मामेति सोऽर्जुन॥
This year, on Friday, 4 September 2026, Nandgram Dham welcomes Him with abhishek at the midnight hour, a bower of fresh flowers, fifty-six offerings and prasādam for every soul who comes. Every part of that welcome is a seva — and each one is offered by a devotee like you.
Eight sevas make up the festival night. Each carries a fixed offering, and each is performed and acknowledged in the donor’s name. Choose the one your heart settles on.
Mahā Seva प्रसादम् वितरण सेवा
Sanctified prasādam served through the whole day of the festival — to every devotee, guest and villager who comes for darshan.
पोशाक एवं अलंकार सेवा
Offer Their Lordships new silken vastra and jewelled alankār, worn for the first time at the midnight darshan.
फूल बंगला सेवा
A fragrant palace of fresh flowers raised around the altar, so Kanhaiya appears in a bower of roses and mogra.
अभिषेक सेवा
Bathe the Lord in milk, honey, ghee, yoghurt and pañcāmrita at the sacred midnight hour of His appearance.
फल वितरण सेवा
Baskets of the season’s finest fruit offered at the altar, then distributed to every guest as the Lord’s mercy.
पंजीरी प्रसादम् सेवा
The traditional Janmashtami panjiri — ground wheat, ghee and dry fruits — prepared and offered at midnight.
छप्पन भोग सेवा
Fifty-six preparations laid before the Lord in the great festival offering, as Vraja once offered Him.
आरती एवं अर्चना सेवा
Lamps, incense, flowers and archana offered in your name at the Janmashtami mahā-ārati.
