Translation

The full moon rises in the evening sky. Seeing the moon, child Gauracandra feels happiness in His heart.

canda de ma bali sisu kande ubharaya hata tuli saci dake aya canda aya
Translation

"Mother, give Me the moon!" He loudly demands. Lifting her arms, Mother Saci calls out, "Come here, O moon! Come here!"

na ase nithura canda nima-i byakula kandiya dhulaya pade hate chinde cula
Translation

The cruel moon does not come. Nimai is very agitated. He weeps. He falls to the dust. With His own hands He tries to pull the hair from His head.

Translation
